I am a Gardener’s Gardener. I offer consultations to get you started and coaching to keep you going. I would love to walk through your garden (or yard) with you while you point out your challenges, concerns, and plants that bring you pride and joy. As we stroll through your garden, I will give you advice and tips that you can use immediately to improve your gardening results.  We can do this virtually with photos, so don't hesitate to contact me if you are out of the Phoenix, AZ area.

Test Your Gardening Knowledge:

Did you know the most cost-effective and earth-conscious way to prevent pests and disease is to have healthy plants?
Pests and disease seek out plants that are stressed. Yet many bugs are beneficial to the ecosystem of our gardens. Some suck and nibble on our plants, some nibble on each other, others help plant debris decompose and turn to organic nutrients in the soil. Some of the most widely-used chemicals for the garden actually find their way into our streams and lakes. Please read labels carefully and follow the directions. Better yet, find a natural solution that doesn’t harm our environment, your pets or children. I have several on my resources page.

Gardening as exercise and a stress reducer
People say gardening is therapeutic, but you don’t get it. Your garden seems to be an endless source of frustration, not to mention back aches. Using the proper tool correctly, taking frequent breaks and stretching your body can help alleviate some of the aches and pains. Plus the earth transfers her energy to you when you have your hands in the dirt

Gardening in the desert is not an oxymoron
Desert gardening is just a special type of gardening. Somehow plants and animals have been surviving here for centuries. Xeriscape pronounce (Zear-i-scape) is a type of gardening that uses precious resources like water very responsibly.

Did you know watering incorrectly causes more plant problems than any other factor?
You can have a lush garden in the desert with a few lessons on responsible conservation of water, proper planting and care. Learning what plants work in your yard or garden and which plants are better left to be viewed in magazines will increase your chance of having a garden you enjoy.
